About Apoëna
Apoëna takes its name from the Tupi language, where it means “one who sees further.”
That idea became both our name and our mission: helping people see further into ideas, stories, systems, and possibilities. It is also the inspiration behind our motto, See Further.
The diaeresis in Apoëna was originally introduced to help non-Portuguese speakers pronounce the name correctly. Over time, it became an integral part of the brand itself—a small detail that reflects something we care deeply about: making communication more accessible without losing its character.
Our visual identity draws inspiration from Nice, France, where the studio is based. The arches found throughout the city's architecture informed the logo and graphic language, while the color palette reflects the warmth and light of the Mediterranean landscape.
At its core, Apoëna is about translation. Not between languages, but between complexity and understanding. We transform ideas into visual systems, information into narratives, and content into experiences that people can engage with, remember, and share.
Whether designing a publication, a visual identity, a data visualization, an illustration, or a motion piece, we approach every project as storytellers. We believe good design does more than communicate—it reveals connections, creates meaning, and helps audiences see further than they did before.
